War Graves Tours is coming to Madhurst

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is offering tours of Easebourne Churchyard and Carron Lane cemetery on 4^th and 5^th August  2023 as part of the Madhurst Festival.

The free guided tours will take place at Easebourne Churchyard at 11am and at 2pm at Carron Lane Cemetery and will give people in Midhurst and Easebourne the chance to discover the remarkable stories of the men and women of the Commonwealth forces that died in the First and Second World Wars who are buried in their community.

CWGC believe that each one of those we commemorate were people like us, with their own ambitions, hopes, and dreams.  It is our duty and privilege to care for their graves and memorials and through our charitable Foundation, keep their stories alive.

The CWGC is encouraging the people of Midhurst and Easebourne to seek out the stories in their local area and book onto a free tour during Madhurst.
