Guided Walk | War Graves Guided Tour | Saturday 3rd August
3 August to 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is offering tours of Easebourne Churchyard and Carron Lane cemetery as part of the Madhurst Festival with Phil Stringer as your guide.
The free guided tours will take place at start at Easebourne Churchyard or Carron Lane Cemetery and will give people in Midhurst and Easebourne the chance to discover the remarkable stories of the men and women of the Commonwealth forces that died in the First and Second World Wars who are buried in their community.
CWGC believe that each one of those we commemorate were people like us, with their own ambitions, hopes, and dreams. It is our duty and privilege to care for their graves and memorials and through our charitable Foundation, keep their stories alive.
The CWGC is encouraging the people of Midhurst and Easebourne to seek out the stories in their local area and book onto a free tour during Madhurst.
Dates of Guided Walks
Sat 3 Aug at 11.00am – Midhurst(Carron Lane) cemetery.
Sat 10 Aug at 11.00am – Easebourne(St Mary)Churchyard
Sat 10 Aug at 2pm – Lodsworth (St Peter) Churchyard
Tours will take approx 75 minutes and are for a maximum of 10 people
